Welcome to the journal.

The journal is a collection of creativity designed with the intention of integrating the friends and inspirations of GFYFC into a one-stop all things surf-related space. It is a celebration of South African surf culture - from videos to music to short and long-form written pieces. 

With a focus on the unconventional, the aim is to dive deeper into topics that may spark a thought or an idea or even make you slow down enough to smell the flowers. Although surfing is about the ride, it doesn’t begin or end there. The journal is a platform dedicated to the sharing of ideas, experiences and theories. It is a platform for conceptual and perceptual perspective-taking, for seeing the surfing experience through another’s eyes.  

I’m not sure where this path will lead, but I’m excited to welcome you along for the ride.
